[10] COUNTDOWN to HALLOWEEN: Zombie Walk of Fame
10 days until Halloween and I have a another preview for you from my new project, Zombie Walk of Fame: 101 Celebrity Zombie Portraits. Tonight's selection for our countdown is Sir Anthony Hopkins.
Anthony Hopkins Zombie Sketch
Hopkins received his star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame fairly recently in 2003 after a long and illustrious career. He's portrayed figures from Van Helsing to Pablo Picasso to Richard Nixon. The basis for my illustration was Hannibal Lector. This performance landed Hopkins an Academy Award in 1992. A impressive fact is a mere 24 minutes of screen time was enough for the Academy's vote for Best Actor- an ode to how powerful the character was. Hopkins would go on to reprise Lecter twice: first in the sequel- Hannibal and then in the prequel- Red Dragon. All Thomas Harris' books with Lecter were eventually adapted into one of the most successful horror film franchises in Hollywood history.
